UK-China hub for offshore wind launched

UK-China hub for offshore wind launched

A new hub aims to help UK players create business opportunities in the Chinese offshore wind industry.

Launched by British Chamber Shanghai, the Offshore Wind (OSW) Hub offers what it calls a three-tier service level based on a company’s current business engagement in China or business objectives for the country over a 12-month period.

The bronze tier would create a “virtual presence” for businesses in China without the setup costs, the silver tier would provide a support service for those that wish to explore the industry in the South East Asian country and the gold tier would provide in-territory support and business development.

The Chamber states: “OSW Hub is a flexible, dynamic, low risk, cost-effective and professional means for the UK players to create business opportunities in China.

“It will foster and promote bilateral trade and increase stake in the success of its members by promoting greater understanding of UK expertise, creating deeper ties between members and the OSW industry in China and grow people-to-people links.”

The hub is also supported by Department for International Trade and RenewableUK.
