Bam Construct UK commits to net zero operations and building projects by 2030

BAM Construct UK has committed to reach net zero emissions across its direct operations and all buildings it develops or controls by 2030.

The construction and engineering firm has signed up to the World Green Building Council Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment, which will see it independently audited on progress and be required to publically disclose its sustainable performance.

BAM Construct UK Ltd Chief Executive, James Wimpenny, said: “As a leading company in our sector, we know we need to be more efficient with time and resources. As well as getting our own operations to net zero emissions, we can make an even bigger impact by helping clients remove carbon from their existing estates and future buildings, both in terms of how they operate and the materials used to build and maintain them.

“Signing up to the Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment helps demonstrate both our own responsibility and the significant role we play in stimulating market change with our clients."
