DFDS extends record order with 25 Volvo electric trucks

Shipping and logistics company DFDS has extended its record order with Volvo with an additional 25 heavy electric trucks.

The new vehicles are on top of the 100 electric trucks ordered in October 2021, which will replace DFDS' conventional trucks starting from the fourth quarter of this year and continuing throughout 2023.

The new electric trucks, which can be charged both overnight at the home depot and via high power fast charging on route, will be used for transportation in the DFDS logistics system in Europe.

Niklas Andersson, Executive Vice President and Head of Logistics Division at DFDS said: “Green investments in the heavy transport industry are a prerequisite to reach the emissions reductions needed for DFDS, our customers and society in general.

“Our partnership with Volvo Trucks allows DFDS to offer further low-emission transport solutions, already in high demand among customers. We hope such investments will increase the demand for green infrastructure solutions across Europe.”
