Fresh funding for commercial-scale CCS hub in Wyoming

Fresh funding has been announced to fund the development of a commercial-scale carbon sequestration hub in eastern Wyoming.

The grant from the Wyoming Energy Authority will be used by TallGrass for the Eastern Wyoming Sequestration Hub project, which is being designed to provide a cost-effective means of capturing, transporting and sequestering carbon dioxide across multiple states.

Kyle Quackenbush, Segment President at Tallgrass said: “The Eastern Wyoming Sequestration Hub project is a strong addition to our existing decarbonisation initiatives and aligns with our broader clean energy strategy.

“This project can accelerate the state’s goal to be net negative in CO2 emissions by importing and sequestering CO2 and benefit the broader Rocky Mountain and Midwest regions. We very much appreciate the support of the Wyoming Energy Authority and look forward to working with them, as well as other government and community leaders in Wyoming.”
